| We are trying to catch up from the NOPI show this weekend as well as working on a big move. I have some video, although its not that great, and some other interesting info about the car. The car is 100% streetable, quiet 2.5" exhaust, and nice idle. I drove the car to and from the dyno and then over an hour to and from the NOPI nationals. We didn't do any intercooler chilling or spraying. I am running a 60 shot of NOS in the pipes going to the throttle bodies (1st stage) and another ~200 shot via direct port on a boost pressure switch . Nitrous does have a synergistic effect on a turbo car so that 260 shot would be expected to make in the neighborhood of 350hp. This is just one of the first of what I am sure will be plenty of street Z's over 1000rwhp. We have several coming along that will probably exceed this one soon. My turbos really aren't that big compared to some of the other builds coming along. Of course there are skeptics out there, but they will eventually concede after we do it again and again with this car and others, even at other shops in the Atl area that have open dyno shoot-outs. The power is real not some imaginative quantity. I have used it on the interstate in 4th gear several times to its full extent on race fuel (minus the NOS). I drive the car and I do use and enjoy the power. The feeling on the open road is just like crack for me. That is what I really enjoy, just that shear acceleration and raw power up in the high gears. In my opinion that is the most practical measure of how much power a car really has. You are not completely dependent on traction and your less likely to blow your drivetrain every time. I like a good race out on I-20 from a rolling start over the drag strip any day. That is really a measure of who has the most powerful car, it doesn't depend on driver skill. So why do we race? To see who is the best driver or who has the fastest car? Well I've never claimed to be king of the drag strip, so I'm not looking to challenge anyone based on skill. However I would put money down for anyone on the forum that wants to race from a 50 mph roll. I'm not the best driver but I do have a powerful car. Drag racing is an entirely differnent science of hooking it up off the line, which involves breaking a lot of stuff. I admire the art of hooking the power up and running low times but that isn't really what I built the car for. I will probably give it a try before long but it may take a couple runs to get it figured out and my NA rear end/axles may explode in the process. Not to mention I have no intention of ruining the look of my car with a roll cage. The car has really been an excersize for Z1 in pushing the limits on certain components to determine restrictions and breaking points and we have gained some great knowledge and learned some interesting lessons. You learn things from cars at this kind of power level that aren't neccessarily apparent on stage 3 Z's. But this knowlege helps us build more efficient and reliable Z's for the masses.
